The D Family- Charleson Park, Vancouver.

The ‘D’ family was the runner up in my Photo Shoot Giveaway Contest in March. Their ADORABLE, identical twin boys stole the hearts of voters… And it’s no wonder! Carter & Daniel are absolutely adorable.

We spent a fabulous hour together at Charleson Park– exploring, playing, running & laughing. I mostly hung back and let this little family do their own thing, while snapping ‘candidly’ on the sidelines. The results, I think, is a really ‘natural’ & alive looking session. Enjoy!

Nova’s First Easter!

I did a little Easter Mini-Session with my niece yesterday! This year was her very first Easter and so I thought it would be fun to do a ‘themed’ shoot. Nova looked adorable (as usual) and was such a good sport— even though she did NOT like those bunny ears!

And one hilarious out-take to prove that every shoot has it’s trials and tribulations!

Pumpkin Patch!

First off- I should mention that this post is incredibly late. In fact, I likely wouldn’t have thought to share these images had a certain someone not poked me an not-so-subtle way (I love you, Liz!) However, I am a firm believer that it’s always ‘better late than never’ so in the spirit of that, here we go!

Last October I had the pleasure of joining Elizabeth & her fabulous twin girls Charlotte & Poppy (who were 17 months old at the time) to the Richmond Country Farms Pumpkin Patch. I grew up in this area, but it was my very first time visiting this particular Pumpkin Patch, and man was it fun! Hayrides, Sing-a-longs, Live band, Farm Animals, Free apples and of course, all the muddy, squelchy, messy pumpkin-adventure fun that you could ever dream of.

Charlotte & Poppy were so adorable tromping through the patch while they searched for just the right pumpkin, and Liz & I certainly had our hands full lugging their selections (and a couple of mucky toddlers!) back to the hayride! What a day!

Thanks to Richmond County Farm for a fabulous morning & to Liz & the girls for letting me tag along. Let’s do it again next fall!

4th Birthday Party!

I was recently invited to attend a super fun 4th Birthday Party. I had such a blast hanging out and capturing some great action shots and smiling faces. Vancouver’s ‘Jump’ Gymnastics did a wonderful job hosting the event and keeping this group of a dozen 3-4 year olds laughing & moving. The afternoon was rounded off with some fabulous, colourful cupcakes from ‘Cupcakes’ (by Heather & Lori). The kids really got down & messy (is there any other way to truly enjoy a cupcake?!) and I loved snapping candid shots of those smudged faces.

Please consider Tamara Lakeman Photography for your next party! Having a professional photographer there allows you to be able to really relax & enjoy those special moments.

If you were in attendance at this event, you can view the FULL gallery of photos HERE. This gallery is password protected:: Just type in the Birthday’s Girl’s First Name to get access to the album.

recreating!

I often have ‘repeat’ clients. Clients who come back to me once, or twice, or even 10x. Clients who I build I relationship with & truly value and love. This weekend I had a Holiday Session with one such family. We captured many fabulous images (check back later for those!) but one of the funnest shots of the day was a ‘recreation’ shot of a photo I took of their children 2.5 years ago.

Then & Now…

How fun would it be to come back to this same spot in 5 or 10 years and do this photo AGAIN?!

Little Family

I have been a little bit MIA for the last few weeks. For that I apologize! I am sort of in the middle of my busy Holiday Season right now and have been shooting Christmas Portraits steadily every weekend. I was actually in San Francisco last weekend and had a blast with some of my favourite ‘regulars’ as well as a couple new clients as well! And now I am back in Vancouver and snapping Holiday Photos for some fabulous Canadians.

Keeping checking back for some sneak peeks into these Holiday Sessions and more.

Benjamin turns 1!

I am so glad that I was able to do this shoot!! Just over a year ago, I met the ‘B’ family when they were expecting their first child. We did a beautiful maternity shoot in their amazing San Francisco home. A month or two later, their baby boy Benjamin entered this world and I returned to do his newborn shoot. Well, since then I have moved back to Vancouver Canada so I wasn’t sure that  I would be able to make back to capture his 1st birthday.

However, in July I had planned a short visit to San Francisco, so I emailed a few previous clients to get in touch. As it turns out, the timing could not have been better for the B Family! Benjamin’s 1st birthday was just around the corner and it was the perfect time for me to come! We immediately planned another session in their home, and it was a wild success. Ben has grown up into such a vivacious, brave & charismatic little man. As always it is a joy to have been able to watch him grow up and capture the priceless memories that he & his family will cherish for many, many year to come.
